With over 5,000 runners competing,
we left London
early to ensure we could find a parking spot and we just about
squeaked in at the sea front car park. With two hours to wait we
tried to doze but kept getting interrupted with organisers for
future events banging on the windows to give us their flyers. It was
bitterly cold at the race start so we donned our Tower Hamlet pink
council recycling bags to stay warm before the starter's
gun went off.
We ran separately but both had enjoyable races on the challenging
course. I came in close to my PB with my second fastest time ever
but the star of the day was JJ who clocked up his second half
marathon PB in 8 days! Legs aching we spent 1 hour in traffic and
just covered 5 miles but it was worth it to know an 'all you can
eat' Chinese buffet was awaiting us back in London.

2008 Hastings FULL marathon!
"It doesn't look nice out there, does
it?" , "It's not so nice in here either, stop your heavy breathing!"
